I’d love getting two firsts this year. I imagine if the Islanders can’t afford Holl then Vancouver can

He will be played. They will rotate these 8 D when healthy. He will have a more permanent spot next year. He is good now and will be a long term piece.

I believe they could make this work with a 22 person roster. I would need to double check. But fair enough!

Just checked - They are under the cap easy with a 22 person roster.

Would you turn down the 2 x 1st round picks if Schenn had to be a part of this deal to make it go through?

JT is worth the two firsts alone. Like the other comment says, we need another RHD back otherwise it would be the worse D in the NHL. Demko would retire early with the idea of Myers Poolman top 4. And if Poolman can't go, what would they do sign Stralman? neutral

Just tried it out can work cap wise if Ross is waived. You might need to take Panik tho. With that being said I think Islanders would say yes and it seems fair, even tho I would rather keep our 2023 first and go for someone like Pasta or Kane. Overall good trade

I wouldn’t want to trade the 2023 first round pick rn given the fact it could end up between 8-16 if **** hits the fan next year. I believe this roster can make the playoffs, but I don’t trust the team enough to move a first rn. I want to c them for 20-40 games before Lou makes that call.

The trade is fair value wise but agree with you on the 2023 first. If **** hits the fan than we sell on Mayfield ZP and Varly. 2023 FA we should threw a blank check at Pasta idc what it takes he is one of my favorite players in the NHL

Nobody wants to roll out a 22 man roster tho. But even if you ignore the financial issues, I don’t think the isles r in any position to trade a first. Isles need to find cheaper talent to surround the core with given the fact Barzal and Sorokin are about to get PAID.

Agreed. Rn I don’t even think the isles r in a position to add a veteran. If they are gonna make a big trade than they need to get more out of Wahlstrom. They would also need Raty, Dufour or even Holmstrom to make the roster. They don’t have enough young talent to make a run imo.
