STL Big Draft

Created by: A_K
Team: 2017-18 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: May 22, 2017
Published: May 22, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trade up for Vilardi or Mittelstadt. Avs are developing a few centers already and Tage T will probably end up as a big RW. Maybe COL will make other trades to solve issues on defense...

Grab someone cost-effective like Henrique so Stastny can play 2C where he is more suited (and him and Fabbri have had good chemistry before). Not saying Henrique is a 1C, but they are hard to come by, and this plan is stop-gap until Mittelstadt/Vilardi would be ready.

Middelstadt is not worth Tage let alone all that. If STL does that and I'm COL I'll run with it.

Thanks for feedback Nate. I thought it was just homers like me that saw Tage's value. Either way grabbing a center with 1C potential is huge for the Blues. If it takes fewer assets then that's even better.

I don't think NJ would be interested in some spair parts and a 3rd for their best center... Could just be me. Why would the Blues want to move Thompson just to draft another center who might not even be as good?

Perron and Gunny have more value than spare parts but yeah maybe have to sweeten that deal. Perron had more production than Henrique last year and NJ has McLeod and Zacha ready for bigger roles. I see Thompson as a middle six guy. I know he's got skills especially for a big guy but I think a top five pick with 1C potential would be a welcome addition to our prospect pool. Maybe I'm overrating this draft tho. For the record I'm super high on Tage. Just hope he gets thicker and stays quick.

I'd love to move up or package those picks with a roster player and grab an NHL-ready center. But yeah, of course Army won't do anything cool. Nevertheless drafting under Army is the only good thing about having him as GM so if we don't make moves I have faith in grabbing some talent at the draft.
