A lot of these deals are super dependent on how next season turns out for these guys
-If Comtois looks more like his 2020 self (16-17-33 in 55 GP) than last season (6-10-16 in 52 GP), Anaheim keeps him in house. Either that, or the price is a -lot- higher.
-Lundkvist is another high variance guy, but he depends more on how himself and Braden Schneider develop. If Schneider stalls out and/or Lundkvist takes a big leap, they hang on to him. This was his first season in North America so you have to take his results with that grain of salt and see what he does next season. If both he and Schneider play well, though, I could definitely see the Rangers dealing from a position of strength in their D corp to flesh out a forward group that is pretty top heavy. Next season they have a ton of guys that need RFA extensions, including Laf and K'Andre Miller, so an NHL-ready forward on an ELC would be gold to them.
-No idea what the UFA goalie market looks like next summer off hand, but this wouldn't be the worst idea. I'd prefer the Isles just spend money on a backup instead of sending out an asset, but Montembault will have a chance to prove himself this year in what I assume will be a 1A/1B with Jake Allen. If he plays out, he might even progress beyond this value and bring back a decent return.
