Your defence fantasy goated

defence is decent yeah. but I picked Bratt and Terry way too early, could've held off on them a while longer.
also that Norris misclick could really hurt me

Logan Thompson looks fairly promising, I’d imagine this means Broissoit’s also LTIR?

What does he do that Compher can't?

JTC will be the 2C. It's a contract year for him.

Newhook will move from 3rd LW to #3C and learn to play Center so he can take over 2C next year.

Myers will play 3rd LW and be like Landeskog as the defensive "center" and help on faceoffs which will allow Newhook freedom to push the pace. Myers might face roster competition from Maltsev, Ranta, and Bowers in training camp for that role. He is earmarked for the 3C role next year.

3rd RW is the spot that is open competition. O'Connor, Olausson, Kaut, Sedlak will battle for that position.

Bowers and Kaut are no longer waiver exempt, so I think they get thrown in early to see if they can step up.

Avs want as big of a deadline cap space as possible so they don't have to give up additional assets for retention in case they need to:
1) fix the goaltending
2) fix 2C
3) backfill any major injuries

Since we don't know which of those gaps are the biggest playing the waiting game is the best strategy.

The $3 mil of today's cap space becomes nearly $20 mil by the deadline; no reason to use that up for minor tweaks.

I feel like the winner of the PK Subban sweepstake could very well be ... ESPN

he gets to retire with 80m of hockey money, with a great career and with a job in the medias. A nice exit if you ask me

He would end his career as a dirty player who doesn’t care about winning

Seguin could rebound this year given he's had a full offseason to rest and prepare. I think Benn is fried though.

I think seguin could be a 55-60 pt 2nd line forward. He has declined at even strength for the past 4 years. Great on the PP.

Benn is lucic 2.0

Ottawa Senators (we need this updated lol)

The Sens are my biggest riser for this upcoming season. The hype surrounding the city is growing and you can feel the anticipation in the hockey community but even more so; the support the teams getting throughout the city has to be firing the team up. They already had a ton of love (great videos of the boys partying with local bars) - and these guys are being treated like rockstars across the city and at the local practices. Obviously it’s nothing unique for athletes across the world but it is a huge vibe change from previous Sens season including last season.

I honestly think the Sens are going to be the most fun team to watch in 22-23. They may miss the WC; but the Battle of Ontario may rival the BoA - and the Sens should be able to wipe the floor with the bottom feeder teams easily.
