They recently acquired DeAngelo.. Don't think the Management cares about their locker room

The Locker Room issue isn't that they hate each other its more of Disappointment in people not holding others accountable

Facts!

I love the addition of Zach Aston-Reese but secondary scoring has plagued this team against CLB, MTL, and TBL.

That needs to get addressed. I’m confident that the bottom six will defend and not get scored on but it is going to be a mighty struggle for them to create offence

Totally agree with this, but on the topic, I'm optimistic that Jarnkrok might have something more to show in the way of production. He's got a sneaky good shot, which, funnily enough given their offensive reputation, this team really lacks. If he becomes the go-to triggerman on a line with say Engvall and Kampf... I could see him doing alright.

I am grasping for straws but I still for some reason believe Denis Malgin is going to show up and provide some depth offensively.

But if there was a way to figure in Evan Rodrigues, I would be totally happy with:

Bunting Matthews Marner
Engvall Tavares Nylander
Robertson Rodrigues Jarnkrok
ZAR Kampf NAK

100% it is a very boring bottom 6, but honestly that is kind of what you want in a bottom 6. If they can score a few goals and let in less goals then they score, then they will be doing their job.

The biggest hole is top 6 on the left. If they keep Kerfoot, fine, but all signs are pointing towards him being traded. If he is traded, he needs to be replaced. Robertson might fill that role, but I don’t think it’s smart to rely on him. Ideally you trade Kerfoot for a cheaper forward who can play on the second line.

Completely agree but that won't be solved now, with less then 2 weeks before preseason games start. That's a TDL issue.

You are probably right. Unless Robertson or someone else breaks out the leafs are going to acquire a top 6 LW at the deadline. It’s almost a given at this point.

A bottom 6 thats boring but also annoying

Just imagine having to deal with a 4th line of

ZAR-Kampf-Kubel

Would be lucky to come out not battered and bruised or heck take a penalty out of frustration for them shutting you down lul

As for the third line Ive been pondering

Engvall-Jarnkrok-Nylander

As with it you got 3 guys who bring something different to the table. Issue then comes with who plays with JT

But either way I like the bottom 6. Last season Mikheyev figured things out and was the guy to score when needed. Got a feeling this year that guy's gonna be Engvall but who knows maybe Gaudette rebounds into 2019-2020 form

i think the leafs paid too much for engvall and should have avoided or at least paid less for nak. jarnkrok and and kampf are good pieces. overall tho the 3rd line is pretty soild. the 4th line is gonna sit a lot in the 3rd period this season.

Engvall is right where he should be lul

2.25mill for someone of his caliber is fine as he brings a solid 2-way game and when hes on the mark is a lethal threat at both ends. Says he can score 20 goals so lets see if he does it as he was only 5 goals away last season. If he can get a handle on his streakiness and stay consistent that contract gonna look really good heck maybe a potential steal and even if he does the same as last year no harm no foul and he earned what he was supposed to

Here's my big bold prediction

Top 6 LW help is gonna come from within

As to which prospect its gonna be thats where the fun comes in as I think its gonna be someone other than Knies or Robertson as to which guy no idea rn

But it just seems like one of those someone's coming out of no where kinds of seasons

if im the leafs id rather have the cap space to keep kerfoot and ice a 22/23 man roster.

i think someone was saying that allen was in talks to get a multi year extension with MTL (dont remember if it was kevin weekes or andy strickland) so if theres an extension i dont think allen moves tbh

i think so too. i seen the same rumors but i haven't seen a contract posted yet so i assume he's still on the market.

yeah if hes still on the market then theres a chance. but you also have to consider that MTL needs a starter stopgap now that price is gone for a while and montembeault is nothing more than a backup. so if VGK is kicking tires then its probably gotta be brossoit/hill and something for allen half retained
