Not sure what you have seen, but Toews could bring another defensive presence to that line and still wins a lot of faceoffs.

I take it you missed the Kadri signing? Calgary has 2 centers who are quite a bit better than Toews now and a 3rd center who is roughly on par

I’d think Calgary would prefer Kane over Toews. They already got Lindholm, Kadri, Backlund, and Rooney down the middle. Adding Kane instead would make the centers obviously better as Lindholm>Toews and the RW better cause Kane is still elite.

Remove Toews and Chicago might answer the phone. It will cost a a mid to late 1st to unload Lucic's contract at this time
