It would cost a 1st unfortunately. He should be bought out next offseason

Why on Earth would Milano get 3 years at $2.75MM when far more accomplished guys like Stasny and Kessel are getting $1.5MM? At this point of the offseason he's looking like a league minimum/PTO guy.

Take far more than an unvaxed Bode Wilde and a 2nd round pick to move on from Josh Bailey.

I would rather trade a 2nd and Holmstrom

People don’t care about unvaccinated anymore plus Bailey is getting paid less than is actual contract is worth and is still a very serviceable middle 6 winger

I don’t even think that would get it done right now. Unfortunately isles are stuck with him. After his 1000 game they should make him a healthy Scratch

Because they are old and he’s young I’m sure if he wants less sign me up but I’d want him on at least a 3 year deal because he will pop off

I could definitely see that getting it done but yes I’d love to healthy scratch him the whole season as we have enough to sign Milano without moving him

The isles have nothing to lose right now, Milano should be signed but I doubt it will happen. Lambert needs to construct lines that Trotz wouldn’t think about doing. The top 9 should be :

Beau-Barzal-Wahlstrom
Lee-Nelson-Palmieri
Parise-Pageau-Bellows

I’ve always wanted to see that first line but I thinks that 2nd line will be too slow and they’re all shooters they might not mix well

Nelson is a good skater and his exit and entry rates are above average. He’s also a good playmaker. I’d try it out.

The reason I’d want Milano he’s very similar to Beau fast and a solid two way player that’s why I’d like to see him on the squad because Lee- Nelson- Beau were very good last season so that would leave Milano- Barzal- Wahlstrom who I think could build some nice chemistry obviously I’d want to move Bailey though even it takes Holmstrom and a 2nd, Dufour will be taking Holmstroms spot soon so why not move him while he has value

I agree, Milano makes too much sense. He was one of the best playmakers in the league last season - and he’s kind of similar to Eberle in terms of play driving. This team misses Eberle a lot more than Leddy

I wouldn’t be surprised if Dufour becomes a top 6 winger in the NHL and I also wouldn’t be surprised if he’s the next MDC

I still will never understand why the islanders gave up Eberle over Bailey in the expansion draft they really protected Martin over him

hey, if he's the next MDC at least we didn't drop 5OA on him, right?

Eberle might be the most underrated islander of the last decade. He was an average finisher but he was the best play driver on the team and one of the best in the entire league. Whatever line he was on was always the best because he was so good at maintaining possession

Hopefully they don’t bury Dufour if he does end up like MDC. I’d take MDC on the 4th line over clutter and Martin
