Jackets don’t need a LHD, muzzin probably doesn’t waive, Nyquist has more value.

Nyquist has one year left and Muzzin has two left. That’s a non-starter for CBJ.

Yeah the only way I see this is if Gavrikov wants out and the jackets trade at the TDL and then take on muzzin with a first rounder or something valuable attached

I disagree. RD is a far bigger need for Buffalo than a depth winger. I'd prefer a decent RD in the pressbox over Bjork any day of the week.

Red Wings Reunion Tour. Jarnkrok and Nyquist. All you have to do now is trade for Tommy Tatar and sign Jimmy Howard.

I'd also prefer a decent RHD. This trade doesn't do that.

Not to mention wasting a retention slot just so Toronto can feel good about themselves. Hard pass.

Holl is a scrub 8th or 9th defensemen on a truly elite d core

Holl maybe 8th or 9th defensemen on a truly elite d core he would be the Sabres 2nd RHD.
He would get a lot more ice time than Bjork.
Finally, I know you are all tired of reading this, but EVERY Stanley Cup final four team played with 3 RHD and 3 LHD.
Tampa was so committed to this defensive set, they played with Rutta and Bogosian, players waived by Chicago and Buffalo.
Do you know how bad one has to be to be waived by those two teams?

Sandin isn't that appealing. Rather keep the pick and mitchell

Let’s not pretend that Tampa didn’t use Bogosian and Jan Rutta because they weren’t expensive. Tampa couldn’t afford anybody else. Those two are generally serviceable when they have a strong partner covering up for their mistakes. In Chicago and Buffalo they don’t, they do in Tampa. It doesn’t hurt that Hedman plays half the game and Sergachev is right behind him.

1. Buffalo does not have a truly elite defensive core
2. Holl played 20 minutes a night with Toronto, that's not a scrub 8th or 9th Dman, he also plays a physical game and blocks shots consistently.
3. Among Toronto Dmen he drew more defensive zone starts than all but Giordano and Lyubushkin and still had an on ice corsi over 50%
4. He had the 3rd highest Defensive point share on the team.
5. He was 2nd on the team in PK ice time per game, on a team that was top 10 in PK%

Buffalo gets 3 retention slots, do you really think they are going to use all 3 at the TDL?

Buffalo gets 3 retention slots, do you really think they are going to use all 3 at the TDL? Unlikely Buffalo could interest 3 teams to take Okposo, Girgensons AND Hinostroza! They only made one TDL deal last when they had more UFA's.
OMG, I thought all of my comments were falling on deaf ears.
You said it best, I never wanted to remind TML fans how well Holl played LOL laugh .
To get him for Bjork would be a steal!
