I wouldn't mind Jones on a 7.5 mil AAV contract as that's closer to what he's worth but there's no way chicago is getting a 1st for him lmao

8 years and $76 million of a second pairing almost 30 OFD is a punishment I wouldn’t wish on anyone

Wasn't sure what to send as a return, there would be something as Jones is a good Dman but the contract makes it hard to gage.
I put a first next season as 1.5x8 years is a lot to retain, and Jones on an 8x8 becomes more worth while (though I still see him as a 7-7.5 Dman).
I don't see Chicago moving him for anything less with that retention, though it's debatable.

Seth Jones wont waive his NMC for any Canadian teams.

And Kyle Davidson sure as hell isn't eating $1,500,000 x 8 years on Seth Jones contract. That's $12,000,000 in dead money over 8 seasons. Rebuilding teams don't do that.

NMC was assumed to be waived, though I don't know Jones preferences (if he wants certain locations/on a winning team/etc.).

Rebuilding Teams wouldn't, but this contract also heavily hurts a rebuilding team and retaining 1.5m x 8 rather than 9.5 x 8 on someone that doesn't help their current needs.

What is your assumption that's going to happen with Jones?

Should probably cut that retention in half, cant see any team retaining that much for that long.

I know at the time he was traded from Columbus to Chicago, He would only agree to waive for Chicago, Colorado and Dallas. All Canadian teams were on his no trade list he only wanted to play in the States.

If he's moved i think he goes home to Dallas but Jim Nill would need to send and expensive piece back like Jaime Benn. But if Kyle Davidson is looking at a 5 year rebuild if he were to retain $1,000,000 x 8 years on Seth Jones it might not be so bad. As he will probably only go with cheap ELC contracts anyways.

Jones should stay far away from our roster. He has no business being payed that much, even with retention
