Fantilli looks great, but if MTL has the opportunity, I want Michkov (Other than Bedard obviously)

Pick’s 29 and 61, assuming Calgary is CLG

Works for me because I want Fantilli if we can’t get Bedard

Michkov will win the Art Ross a few times in his career, I can smell it. Fantilli seems like more of a big physical 80pt player. Great first liner, but I think Michkov seems like the right choice between the 2

We already have our right winger for the future in Frank Nazar so competition will be tight there and there’s like no center for the future so adding Fantilli would complete our future first line: Reichel Fantilli (or Bedard if we win the lottery) and Nazar

I'd be more than fine with MTL getting Michkov and CHI getting Fantilli. Fantilli definitely works in the hawks uniform

While I've liked the Benson footage that I've seen, I can't see Verbeek taking Benson. Verbeek has clearly said he wants to build a big and physical but at the same time highly-skilled team. The selections he / his team have made in his first draft further underline this (4x 6'2", 6'3", 6'5", 6'4"). I personally do think it's smart to go for at least a bit of size in general (not with every pick but the players selected shouldn't be mostly small, some players can be smaller that's never a problem imo) and it's good to see Verbeek does go for skill as well, not just pure size like some other (mostly old) GMs do. Before Verbeek's tenure the Ducks have already selected some "small", highly-skilled players (Zellweger, Drysdale, Perreault are all under 6' and Pastujov and Tracey are both 6') which makes it even less likely he would select more small players. At least that's how I see it.

hella late but i'd rather have fantilli over michkov, mtl is doing more of a reset than a rebuild, michkov would be in mtl in 2026 and that would def take a while, fantilli would def be my choice if we end up 2nd or 3rd in draft, feels like chicago might take the longer route in michkov as they are doing a long rebuild. might even pay em to pick michkov, like mtl wanted nj to do so that mtl would pick wright.
if we end up 4th or 6th range, one of yager, dvorsky or carlsson would be nice as caufield and suzuki arent 6ft tall, def need a bigger 2nd centre, maybe 1st if they overtake suzuki (fantilli most likely) dvorsky and fantilli along w yager are 6ft +
