Verbeek just signed Strome because he is the type of guy Verbeek wants here in Anaheim, he isn’t trading him plus Comtois and 2nds for a guy that seems to never be happy

Plus I think he will want like a 8 x $9,500,000+ and I do not think he is worth that

The Jets don't touch the Boston, Anaheim or Vancouver deals and Ottawa says no to that one.

Wheeler at half retained has pretty decent value I’d assume but I’d rather keep the younger DeBrusk for 2 more years and see if we could extend him or trade him by that point. And then giving up Studnicka and the 3rd seals my opinion

Blake wheeler at $4,125,000 gets a far better return than that

Why would Anaheim want Pierre-Luc Dubois? They already have Zegras and McTavish as their 1C and 2C respectively. They don't need an expensive PLD on top of it.

Ya, no he doesn’t. The second year of the contract makes it difficult to move him at all.

Moving decent assets with 4m cap hit with expiring contracts is difficult right now. With term? Good luck. Especially a 36 year old.

Of all the bad attempts to send Wheeler to Boston this is by far the most realsonable. But as you say. Wheeler is of no value when his contract expires, while JD has yet to have his best year and and will either be a good trade chip or an extendable asset. I like Stanley, and a swap for Studnicka is fair, but with 5 LD under contract with term and a need for center it makes little sense.
Adding the 3rd is the final nail in the coffin.

Especially if the rumors are true about him being a flight risk to a certain French speaking team.

Even if they are not, I think the dude has a major attitude problem and don't want him bringing that into the locker room in ANA. We could use an excellent to elite level power forward to pair with the Zegras Terry Line, and PLD fits the bill on paper if he is willing to play LW, but we wouldn't be giving up Strome to get him and he has to come ready to sign a not atrocious long term deal and an agreement to maintain a sports psychologist whilst on the team.
-That said, if PLD can pass the sniff test for his attitude, is willing to sign something long term up to ~8.5 mil AAV, and is willing to play left wing if it means playing on the top line with Zegras and Terry, I would be willing to consider a package involving Comtois, Ducks 2025 1st, BOS 2023 second, and a mid grade prospect. But that is a lot of ifs.
