Well they had 75 when they didn’t have Tuch for the first 30 games of the season, Olofsson going on a weird 30 game goalless drought, Anderson missing over 2 months with an injury. Plus having a full year of Power and Quinn I think it’s pretty easy to assume they get 80 points.

Like I said when you have the 6th&5th pick in the draft you are supposed to draft well. He spent money on 2-3 line players and gave out a long term contract to Ben Chiarot. Let’s see if they can pass the Sabres in the standings first before we call Yzerman the best GM.

Cap should jump a fair bit in two years which should basically set those deals at around market value. I agree chiarot overpaid but I’m positive that’s what he was going to get anyway and wings are still in a great cap situation

I don’t know I’m not sure if Eichel is ever going to get back to his 19-20 level ever again. That was probably his career year plus he just had a serious neck injury. They are going to be fine without him.

The devil is in the details. Detroit can afford to overpay when they have options. Chiarot deal included, only two contracts are on the books after three seasons. If the worst contract (when we are all arguing on ACGM) is Chiarot for one additional year at 4.75M…..that’s a luxury.

Depends how many years you're using to rank but I would say DET, CBJ, VAN, OTT, BOS are too high. ARI, NJD, ANA, TOR. We can't really compare a team's management who's been here for eight months and another one for eight years.
