EDM doesn't have the cap for Hall, Vegas isn't moving Whitecloud for Ullmark, and I don't think WPG wants to retain 50%.

Doubtful that gets Wheeler at full value let alone at 50% off which i doubt Chevy would even do.

Ullmark isn't waiving, And Vegas isn't dealing Whitecloud for him.

Taylor Hall isn't going back to Edmonton. And besides Edmonton doesn't have the cap space to accommodate him.

Zero chance Winnipeg retains that much on Wheeler and only gets back one decent piece.

2 years of Wheeler at $8 mil>>>>>>>> 2 years of DeBrusk at $8 mil.

DeBrusk is way better than Wheeler at this point. The idea Boston would make that deal is beyond laughable.

Boston does the Arizona trade only. But Arizona declines. Last thing they want is a player whose salary is more than their cap hit. They want to keep payroll down.

Lol. That's hilarious DeBrusk isn't close to Wheeler. At 35 Wheeler outscored DeBrusk by 18 points in 11 less games. It's nice to see you commit so hard to a totally ludicrous supposition though.

Boston would take that deal without doubt. Wheeler and the Jets obviously say no.

DeBrusk’s 200 foot game is better than Wheeler’s, and if DeBrusk had started on the first like with Bergeron all year then he wouldn’t be behind him in points.

That's a load of imaginary crap. Even if DeBrusk had a slightly better 200 for game, which he doesn't, it still wouldn't be enough to make up for being outscored by a 35 year old by 42% in 15% less games.

It's not Wheeler's fault that DeBrusk's coach doesn't think he is good enough for top line minutes. That's his fault and a very poor excuse that you're trying to use. His point totals show he isn't worth a top line slot either.

You can like DeBrusk, that's fine, but he is in no way close to Wheeler in skill and is unquestionably the inferior player.

Calling what I said “imaginary crap” is the most worthless counter argument I’ve ever seen. DeBrusk had 4 points on the power play last year to Wheeler’s 20. Wheeler hasn’t played meaningful time on the penalty kill in years while DeBrusk found a role on the PK as the season progressed. And while I’m not someone who likes to downplay the impact of being a good playmaker, Wheeler had 17 assists on the power play and less goals than DeBrusk last year.

Bottom line even if ur correct that Wheeler is better rn, and I seriously doubt that’s the case, DeBrusk is on the up swing while Wheeler is in decline. Even with retention there is no reason for the bruins to agree to this swap. Terrible take.

You have to look at DeBrusk’s splits before and after the lineup changes. He was a key part of the Bruins roster in the second half. And while it’s not Blake Wheeler’s fault that DeBrusk was being misused, it’s certainly part of this conversation and to pretend otherwise is ridiculous.

You should learn to separate the player Wheeler is from the player he was.

You should just look at last year's stats. This is exactly what both players are right now.

I did. Wheeler had 2 more points at 5 V 5 than DeBrusk while playing in the jets top 6. DeBrusk got bounced around all of last year and didn’t do much in his limited PP time. If you had asked me last summer I’d agree with ur Wheeler take, but not now.

Well have to agree to disagree then. I'm not much for cherry picking stats to try and make one player look better than he is. If DeBrusk had more term or was at least comparable points wise, I could see your point, but as it stands now he's the inferior player.

I mean the power play time erases most of that advantage. But u made some valid points. I overreacted to u saying my point was imaginary crap lol. My bad.
