I did a list in my head, for me personally I had I think 15, so I’d likely have him in the 16-20 group.

Who are the 15 you have ahead of him? Off the top of my head I’d have him at around the 8-12 range but I could be forgetting some

You can’t be serious. Quinn Hughes is a top 10 defenceman in the league at 23 with a .8 PPG (the highest in his draft class for all players) Nemec is a D man that only went in the top 5 because of a weak draft class

TOP 10???? maybe in the OFFENSIVE category? he is abysmal defensively.

Tampa would decline. They aren't in a spot where selling Killorn makes sense unless a player that could at least somewhat replace him for this year was part of any deal. Foote likely wouldn't make the Tampa roster anyway this year. Tampa would probably look at Zetterlund for a prospect, but again, would probably want a roster player(either in this trade or already set up in another) to help with the loss of Killorn.

In no order: mcavoy, weegar, slavin, makar, toews, werenski, heiskanen, ekblad, josi, fox, letang, hedman, rielly, pietrangelo, Theodore, Carlson. Again my personal preference. If he can keep up the improved defensive zone play he showed with boudreau I could jump him up the list.

He was abysmal last year. All off season, and he talked about it, he worked on defence, and he’s clearly better. His 5-5 defence is still below average, but he’s great on the penalty kill, incredible on the powerplay, great at 5-5 offence, and incredible at breakouts

Rielly is odd to me since Hughes is better offensively and defensively than him. I’d take Hughes over Rielly, Carlson, Werenski, Theodore, and Pietrangelo. He’s close with Slavin, Letang, and Weegar.

I like body of work, so that’s why I went rielly. Other guys like I said my personal preference.

I think nemec will be a 40-50 point guy with better defence and plays rhd than Hughes so that’s why I opt to keep him

Spoken exactly like a person who has not seen them play since the COVID year. Your opinion just follows in the footsteps of other naive fans who will believe whatever stereotype is placed on a player. If you even bothered to look into Quinn Hughes, you can see his defensive play has improved drastically. It has also be reported he has trained like crazy this summer so no doubt his defense will continue to grow. Foolish take on your part

You can teach and learn defense, that much has been proved. Hughes is only getting better defensively. His offense is elite, top of the league. 0.85 points per game as a dman. Leads the entire 2018 draft class, ahead of even the top forwards. I think any GM would take a 70-80 point d man with average-possibly even above average defense compared to a 40-50 point d man that is good defensively. From your description of Nemec, you dont view him as a guy to carry the play. His type of player is a perfect complementary to a superior d man partner

Like I said previous, if Hughes keeps up his improved zone play under boudreau he jumps up rankings for me. I just feel like he’s had some very inconsistent play in his d zone.

He is only 22 and has consistently played with depth d men throughout his career (Hamonic, Jordie Benn, Poolman, Schenn). I believe this season Hughes will show the world that he is more than just an offensive defenseman

During the COVID year. Maybe stop being so narrow minded 💀. He is 22 and has put in a lot of work into his defensive game.

23% even strength defense is for the past 3 seasons combined 💀. I’m not saying Hughes is amazing at defense but saying he can’t play defense is just straight rubbish.
