Girard is worth more than Miller at this point. What a joke.

In before the Avs fans say hell no. Realistically I think Miller for Girard straight up would work for both teams, but I’ve had a few Canucks fans say Girard isn’t the right fit. IMO I’ll take good puck moving Dmen on reasonable contracts all day.

They wouldn’t move Girard unless they got an under control asset at the center position and a 3rd pair lefty d man

Girard isn’t a fit with Van and honestly he wasn’t very good last year. That bargain deal is starting to look not much like a bargain anymore. Kaut isn’t really anything at this point.

I don’t think this deal makes sense for vancouver

I’ll take a 100 point rental over an undersized 2nd pair d man any day 🤷🏻‍♂️. To each their own.

Girard is a very good d man lol. Even if he’s more of a third guy than a top pair guy that has real value.

For sure you do for one season. I just don’t think the Canucks will be extending Miller, so getting another good top 4 Dman under contract for him would be ideal. If that isn’t Girard the it can be someone else.

For sure they won’t. He wants to play in a US market.

Van need a RD. They don’t need another undersized guy on the left side.

He’s good but not as good as people think on here.
And no where near the value of JT, even as a rental.

Then ur overvaluing JT by a significant margin. Girard is good for 40-50 points a year and has great possession metrics. He’s a decent defender too.

His career high is 34. See what I mean. Perception on him is so skewed.

Two of those years were shortened by Covid and he got hurt last year. Bad take.

He had that 34 in 70 games during his 3rd year. He followed that up with 32 points in 48 games. He took a step back this year but he was hurt a little bit and he spent a lot of time with middling d partners.

Took Dobson two years to start producing. What’s his 82 game average? Doesn’t take away from his ability that’s for damn sure.

So take his 3 best years. It’s still just at 40.1 per 82. Good production for a defenseman for sure. Helps playing for a high powered offense. Does not change the fact that the perception of him on here is greater than who he really is.

I mean he’s in his mid 20’s so it’s not like he’s peaked. He’s still producing at a good clip anyway lol.

I’d add Ilya Sorokin to that list he’s a stat-padder now on a terrible islanders team, well not really terrible but you get my point

I agree. But he’s still a 2nd pair. A good 3. People act like he’s an all star on here though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

He’s a good 2. Calling him a 3rd pair guy is completely unreasonable.

I’d have a hard time getting behind that one. I agree that goalies benefit from playing in a Barry Trotz system. Let’s see what he does this year. But he’s pretty solid.

When I called him a 3 I meant that his ideal role is as the 3rd d man. He can play top pair, but on a cup contender I’d want him as my #3. I apologize if I phrased it poorly, but I seriously doubt you don’t know what I meant.
