    This team would be (very slightly) over the cap. 5.25/2 = 2.625, not 2.125

    Even this way doesn't work really for any contender teams. 21 man roster with bonuses. Gotta think teams will evaluate their playoff situation closer to TDL, and then Kane's cap will be less of of a hit . Kane and his MNC probably wants to see what team(s) are try Cup contenders in February before agreeing to a trade early in the season.

    2.625M is a lot to retain for a 4th round pick. They still have to pay real dollars.

    About 250k in salary for Zona to pay. 4th is good
    Kanes got a 4 mil signing bonus and only 2.9 in base salary

    It's only $725k for the season. But if this is a TDL move, the pro-rated amount would be even less.
