I know, that's not enough for a guy of Miller's caliber. Players who can win faceoff, run a powerplay, PK, play hard, match up against other top players, and still put up 80-99 points don't grow on trees. Players that do all of the for under 5.5 million are effectively unicorns. Thus the two high picks thrown in.

But in all honesty, Wahlstrom is the only player not named Barzal, Pulock, or Dobson that would get the conversation started.

Faceoffs don’t matter and he’s terrible on the PK, Millers points are boosted by playing on a powerplay with some of the best PP specialists in the league (pettersson, Hughes, Boeser). He is nothing special at even strength, plus he turns 30 next season and is due for regression.

The islanders aren’t trading Wahlstrom for a soon to be 30 YO rental , especially when he complements the isles best player

Both club says YES.
1st pick (10-15 overall) NYI is a very bad club and they will miss the playoff spot. Because they fire the only reason the club win : the Best coach in the NHL.

+ Wahlstrom + 2th pick.
2 nice pick for rebuild for Vancouver.

Miller maybe save that club...but no.
Nyi start 10 years of médiocrity with old Lou.

The isles wouldn’t trade Wahlstrom for miller straight up. Trotz was one of the worst coaches in the nhl last season

Huberdeau is significantly better than Miller. It isn’t close.
