Not enough there to justify the enormous amount of dead cap Chicago would be taking on, roughly 11M

If The Hawks Want To Lose, Retention Would Only Be For The Upcoming Season, No More, Let's Not Lie To Ourselves, This Could Get Toews Easily, Final Year Of His Contract, No One In The Entire League Is Going To Take On His Full Contract, Not Even Arizona Or Anaheim, And Probably One Of The Best Packages You Can Get For Toews As Well

A Toews trade for me is, 1-2 seconds, a prospect and expect 50% RS and who knows, maybe they get an additional 3rd or 4th rounder because Toews can still play and has a tone of experience.

Seattle doesn’t have to give up Geekie to take Foegele. Edmonton has to pay Seattle to take Foegele

Its two cap dumps and a 2nd. Benson is literally nothing. Drop Barrie, Grant, and Benson and just sending the pick would be a better deal for the hawks. It's not the retention i'm worried about it's the cap dumps and not getting paid for them

Terrible toews trade. If this is the best offer for toews they just don't trade him.

Toews and Kane are going to start the season in CHI. Toews has publicly said as much and neither of them have asked for a trade. If Toews is traded during the season, that means he is playing well and teams want him. If he is playing well and teams want him, the price will be higher than this. I don't even think this gets Toews without retention.

Also, CHI couldn't care less whether Toews cap hit is on the books or not. So acting as if CHI is trying to dump his salary is a moot point.
