If I were the Jets, I'd accept that. Helps alleviate the logjam on the left side and Stanley has already been passed by Samberg on the depth chart.

Not sure why Buffalo would do that though, unless they are willing on taking on a project they think they can develop into something beyond a 3rd pairing guy.

Can't see why Buffalo would do it, they have a lot of LHD that are miles better then Stanley is, suppose they'd get a bit of cap space but they have a lot of that so it isn't really an issue for them.

I wouldn't hate adding stanley. We have adequate depth at 3rd pair left d, but stanley would bring an entirely different skill set than bryson/clague/pilut, and I wonder if jokiharju might look better with a gorilla as his partner. Of course there's no way I touch the stl deal. That's actually more than the eichel return.

Trading for RFA rights never cost that much. C-B level prospects and a first. Reinhart trade and Fiala trade are both good examples of this.

Wingers specifically. Probably throw buchnevich in there too. Debrincat and Tkachuk got more than B prospect + first that you are talking about, but I think kyrou fits more with buchnevich/reinhart/fiala to be fair.

Ok but mommy couldn’t afford fiala and bud wanted to rebuild
Blues have neither problem so it’ll take a lot

He’s a ppg 23 24 year old ...You are correct, Kyrou is not for sale and will cost a lot!
First, Kyrou, Karmanos will not be trading first round draft picks, nor will he trade Östlund, who he took over Kemell , who is considered a "slam dunk".
Olofsson will surprise every one next year when he tops 30 goals and 60 points, not Kyrou production, but Victor will not be playing with line mates as talented as Schenn, Thomas, Tarasenko, Barbashev or O'Reilly.
Buffalo is giving up three good pieces for an upgrade over Olofsson, when they need better RHD!
So while it may appear to be fair (I do not agree that it is), Karmanos would not do it.

Second Stanley, taking him on as a project would be interesting.
Big players take longer to develop and big defensemen take even longer!
But not for Mittelstadt, he will also have a very good season exceeding 20 goals and 50 points.
That is too much for a "Project" especially considering LHD is a position that they have quality and depth.

Karmanos may trade either one of them for a RHD, it is unlikely for a LHD or Center when Buffalo has Thompson, Cozens and Krebs as well as Savoiu, Kulich and Östlund in the wings.

Well that is my penny and a half!

He did that 1 season and 66% were assists
Add to that he has 1 year on his contract before rfa with Arb
No thank you

U haven’t given the Blues good enough reason to trade Kyrou
They’re trying to win now, & future probably won’t be of huge interest to them

The Winnipeg trade is horrendous for us
Idk what you’re thinking there at all
If u wanna get rid of Mitts, at least get someone more talented with some upside in return

Not much hope in Kane signing with us unless we make the playoffs this year- he wants a chance at winning again

Just trying to not offend other fanbases. Swap/remove picks to equal out value, but I think the overall needs of each team are addressed with each trade. If we somehow sign Johnson, then there's no way we do the Stanley trade, but I think our D depth isn't great in general

The options are endless; I see a team like the blues with several options. If they did the above trade, would free up space to pursue UFAs. It may essentially end up as Kyrou for Pasta locked up for 7 years, Ostlund, Olo, 1st and a 2nd

The blues are signing Pasta? I doubt the happens. Also your offer does nothing for the blues who are trying to compete. We lost Tarasenko next year and that's where the money comes from to sign kyrou. It's a bad offer that doesn't address any of the blues needs

Teams don’t usually trade away good young players to make room for a UFA

Is olo not a mid-top 6 winger? Its certainly a reasonable offer - may not be an eagle offer but prob close to on par or bogey for value/need

I also doubt they sign pasta. Especially bc they will prob just sign Kyrou. Just posted this as an option - recency bias on RFA deals have made me think he's not untouchable

Usually don't, but if the price is right... They don't have many options w/ cap - kind of why I made the scenario. They have a lot of cap tied up in their D and they almost all have NTCs

Blues are trying to *win now*
So futures aren’t gonna be the “right price”

And they’ll just find a way to move an NTC guy
Teams will always find a way to not lose their best young players
