It's Demko's contract. I don't see the problem for a player who has the same playoffs track record.

That's impossible since he was 25 when he signed his contract...

Also, if Oettinger is younger than Demko when he first dominated in the playoffs, it means he developped faster, got a higher ceiling and is worth more, not less.

Someone mentioned that he was a UFA. Looking at the previous contract it looks like they still had his RFA rights. Even so, he had ALREADY signed his bridge deal for less money. Oetter is still looking at a lower dollar bridge before getting the bigger contract. Yes he developed quicker, which is why he will get more than Demko’s 2.94 million. Saying Oetter’s ceiling is higher just because he’s developing a little quicker than Demko is very naive. Goalies are never a guarantee. His regular season was very average. He shouldn’t get more than 4 million for 3 years. Hart is a better comp than Demko
