LA says no thanks. Durzi is better and younger than Kylington.

Calgary says no thanks too. Garland isn't what they need and they won't have the cap space for him without moving someone higher paid than Kylington anyhow.

What Calgary needs is a top 6 sniper with some size (which they'll trade more for) and if they can't get that a Josh Anderson or a Craig Smith will do just fine. Otherwise they might as well just trade a defenseman or two for picks/prospects, stand pat on forwards until close to the trade deadline and see who's available then.

LAK needs an LD more than Durzi, VAN is looking for an RD and CGY want to improve their Top-9 Forwards. Kylington is only 1.5 years older and is Better than Durzi imo

CGY already has Snipers, they need another Playmaker to set them up. Move Lucic & Valimaki and there's room for everyone. We'd likely lose Dube and/or Ruzicka to MTL for Josh Anderson as well, so that's an additional $9-10.35mil in combined Cap Space moved out. Prefer Garland over say Konecny and Pelletier on line 3 feeding Backlund & Josh Anderson might just work as well. Coleman on line 4 isn't ideal but he can be moved up & down as needed. Garland & J. Anderson could be swapped between lines 2&3 and both bring the Even Strength Secondary Scoring CGY needs

Huberdeau-Lindholm-Mangiapane
Toffoli-Kadri-C.Garland
Pelletier/Coleman-Backlund-J.Anderson/C.Smith
Rooney-Ruzicka/Lewis-Coleman/Virtanen
Rask/Aston-Reese-Duehr/Schwindt/Phillips

Hanifin-Andersson
Zadorov-Weegar
Mackey-Tanev
Gilbert/Meloche/A.Stralman/M.Stone

Might force us to move Zadorov, Toffoli, Backlund, Tanev or Hanifin in the off-season is all

Don't under estimate Garland though. he can score, is a pest and was a point a game player the back end of the season when things started to turn around.

I know but Garland is small and Calgary could use more size and toughness especially in the top 6. He's smaller than Toffoli and Coleman, gets paid more than Toffoli and though he's younger isn't really an upgrade on Toffoli or Coleman either. Mangiapane is the same age, a little bigger and he's better in every way too. Then there's Dube and prospects like Pelletier, Coronato and Beck who are all around the same size or a little bigger.

Garland seems to have the energy and drive of Coleman but also the skill of Toffoli. Would be like having another Mangiapane, but with a Right Shot who’s also better at Playmaking. He’d be ideal imo. CGY can Bulk Up and Bigger in their Bottom-6 and Defence
