Detroit passes, It would take at least a 2nd round pick for any GM to take on Foegele's contract. If not even a 1st round pick.

Detroit doesn't have space for, or want, Foegle. Pass.

Detroit doesn’t need to give up anything to take Foegele. The Oilers would be paying Detroit to take Foegele IMO

Man, this cost-creep is getting out of hand.

That's silly. It took much less to trade Kassian's contract, and Foegele is a better player with a lower contract.

But why? I understand it from the Oilers perspective. Is Zadina getting traded? Waived? He just signed a 3 year deal. Stauffer looks like he could've been in The Sopranos. 😁

Would require that & Fabbri to be on LTIR for the duration of his contract to even see ice time outside of 4th line.

The foegele trade is speculation and not a stauffer prediction. I just picked a team that had space for foegele to go to. I think if i was a GM and had space I would take foegele and retain half salary for a 3rd rounder at the deadline.

Virtanen is the speculaton.

Virtanen and E Kane on the same team. I know both players haven’t been proven guilty or anything but that’s a lot of baggage to put on the team.

Foegele…. Honestly should be future considerations if anything. I just don’t see a lot of competition going after him. Few teams looking to win have the capspace. I’d take him in Nashville if his contract was just this season. His contract would unnecessarily complicate things next season and we’d have to find someone to take him then. His contract isn’t bad… it’s just he isn’t worth keeping over other players.

You're not getting rid of Foegele for assets, At best it would cost at least a 3rd round pick to rid of his contract, No sane GM especially Yzerman is helping Ken Holland out of his cap hell without it be extremely painful.

And 95% of the teams are either over the cap or up against the cap, There's basically only 5 teams that can afford to take on Foegele's contract. And they're not surrendering assets for him. You're still looking at either a 2nd or 3rd round pick to move that contract. No sane GM is helping Ken Holland out of his cap hell.

Kassian cost a 2nd + a 3rd to dump and that was almost two months ago before the teams had finalized their rosters.

Detroit have no roster spot open for Foegele and would have to waive him and send him to Grand Rapids or buy him out. Yzerman doesn't run a charity, bailing out Holland will cost.

detroit has enough cap space to do whatever they want.
