Top Ten Greatest Avs List by year 2035

Created by: Kc91
Team: 2022-23 Custom Team
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 31, 2022
Published: Aug. 31, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Based off of not only exceptional talent but what they also mean to the organization as well
(not including Nordiques players, Only Avs players.)

1. Sakic - Greatest Av all-time on the ice and off the ice (wheres his statue)

2. Makar - Multiple cups, multiple norris trophies, maybe multiple conn smythe trophies, generational Dman, lifetime av

3. Roy - Argumently the greatest goalie of all-time, 2 cups with avs and a conn smythe (also it was because of him they drafted mackinnon)

4. MacKinnon - Multiple Cups, conn smythe? Top 2 or 3 player of his generation, lifetime av

(this is where it gets tough.)

5. Landeskog - Multiple cups, natural born leader, lifetime av, captain all but his rookie season and likely to be involved with avs organization and playing career.

6. Forsberg - Probably the best player on ice as an av during his peak (besides makar) but ranked behind makinnon and landy because of lesser games as an av and injuries.

7. Rantanen - Multiple cups, leader, top line talent throughout his tenure as an av, not likely to finnish (pun intended) career as an av due to cap but will play majority and most of his prime years with them.

8. Hejduk - Currently the most games played by an avs player, lifetime av, one time captain, cup champion, rocket richard trophy. (behind Rantanen because of rantanens ability to be more of a dominant player throughout his career.) (also, rantanen is currently a point a game player which is more than hejduk at this point in his career compared to mikko)

9. Foote - Multiple cups, one time captain, greatest stay at home Dman in avs history

10. Byram - Multiple cups, multiple norris nominee ( his downfall will always be that he plays with makar but will be able to show his dominance throughout most of his time with avs, likely to finish career else where but will be a proven dominant Dman with the avs)

honourable Mentions (not in order)

Erik Johnson, Ray Bourque, Rob Blake, Alex Tanguay, Claude Lemieux, Val Nichushkin

If y’all had Bourque for longer he would easily be pushing top 3. But we didn’t let you until that deadline cause we wanted him to win a cup and had the best odds with you. This list seems acurate. I’m a Bruins fan but rooted for the Ava in the playoffs and watching all the current players playing was incredible. Even highlights from the past, looks pretty accurate

If I did this list by just talent then yes, yes he would be. But those players ahead of him will all mean more to that franchise by the end of their careers. If he stayed in Denver his whole career then I would have him higher on this list
