New Jersey would need to have an extension in place to consider this.

Way too much for a one year rental in J. T. Miller, New Jersey passes.

Odds of Miller resigning with New Jersey are slim to none. There's some speculation that he wants to play in Pittsburgh.

He would definitely need an extensions for Jersey to do this. Jersey has a good young team. I can definitely see Miller extending there to play.

He might, New jersey is every bit as good as Vancouver right now. Probably a lot closer to cup contention than the Canucks.

Key word is ''speculation'' here.

I would 100% take the New Jersey organization over Vancouver. It's not even close. I agree that New Jersey is a lot closer. I don't see Vancouver being close at all with what they have.

An extension that takes place entirely in his 30s would be dumb for NJ.

Extending Miller would be terrible for the Devils. They need to spend that money on someone who fits their timeline. Same can be said for the assets they'd be using to get him.

That’s my only issue with it. If it started at 28-29 then it’d end around 35 instead on 36-38.

If they are in 1st place I'd do this move. Anything else and might be better for young NJ core to establish themselves beforr adding a possible veteran disruption.

Makes no sense for either team. It’s basically a pending UFA for pending UFA swap

The Devils are a 1A goalie away from contention. Vancouver is 2 top 4 RHD away from contention. Neither is easy to acquire. Both are likely contenders in 2 years from now

I'm sorry, but how the hell is New Jersey closer to cup contention than Vancouver? Vancouver was a vastly superior team to New Jersey last season, and has been for the last several years

Uh, hello??? Vancouver was better than New Jersey last season. How is New Jersey closer to cup contention? Your logic makes absolutely no sense. If you think Vancouver doesn't have any pieces to contend with, then you've been living under a rock, cause the Devils aren't that closer to contention either. They need more than just a goalie to be contenders

How the hell is New Jersey closer to contention than Vancouver? Vancouver was a much better team than New Jersey last year, and arguably still are

Devils are more than just a starting goalie away from being cup contenders, but they have a good shot to make the post-season with at the very least average goaltending. As for being cup contenders, their bottom six needs to become harder to play against. They need more Miles Wood types. Guys like Johnsson and Tatar are too soft, and it doesn't look like Erik Haula is going to be anything more than an own rental if the Devils are in the wildcard hunt
