Habs shouldn't trade Caufield for PLD straight up.....a massive overpay for a 2nd line centre PLD. The other trades....actually fair value but don't see the reason why the Jets or the other teams would do them.

CHI accepts. Take Caufield out of the MTL trade and they probably accept. PIT accepts if the cap works for them. If I were DET, I would be more than willing to part with Bertuzzi for that package, but if I were WPG I wouldn't give up a 2023 1st for him. Last but not least, VAN absolutely declines.

Totally remove and forget about Dach and Caufield, remove the 1st and replace it with a 2nd (difference between a 40ish point center and 60ish point center) or similar valued prospect (like Struble, Kidney, RHP or Tuch) and you keep Vesalainen maybe replace him with Bauer or Salomonsson if you want to upgrade to the Panther's 1st.

its a big risk if their entire plan rest on landing him, which i dont think it does i think they certainly have interest in him but its not a make or break move. Much more risk in overpaying in a trade.

We don`t need PLD, we have at Center Suzuki, Dach, Monahan & Dvorak and possibly Bedard. Why would we trade for him. If he really wants to play for the HABS he will hold out and sign as a UFA. forgot to Mention Riely and newly drafted Beck in the minors. I see HABS trading Dvorak in the coming years and signing Monahan to an extension if he is physically rehabilitated
