I would really like to see Bourgault or Holloway involved in the deal. How much does the value change for the oilers if you swap Bourgault for Jesse?

How is Barrie on a bad contract? 50 point right shot d seems very reasonable priced then factor in he's the most experienced d on the roster.

The issue with Barrie is not that he is a bad player, or even that his contract is that bad, but he is just a poor fit for the Oilers right now imo. He is great in the Offensive zone and especially on the PP, but with how Evan Bouchard is coming along those are minutes you likely want to give to him. The oilers need another experience RD but one that is more defensively inclined than Barrie. The issue beyond that is most teams that are ready to compete for a championship now do not need an offensive defenseman who is a liability in his own end.

I don't think I'd pay that much for Kane.

barrie's role on powerplay one is gone now since Bouchard is good. Foegele isn't worth near 3 million

Oilers are giving up a late 1st, a project player like Pulujarvi, a late 2nd, and a B prospect. If anything that isn't enough for kane.

for cap reasons, Jesse has to be a part of the deal. Also, the hawk's prob want a roster player back.

Foegele is a roster player, maybe even in the top 6 with how bad we are trying to suck lol. How do you feel about making the 2nd a 4th and adding Bourgault?

I wouldn't do Jesse for Kane straight up simply because Jesse defensive game impacts the oilers roster more than kanes ability to rack up points is needed. Are we trying to win playoff games 8-5...

If Barrie is on a bad contract (or at least somewhat overpaid for what he provides), why is Seattle giving up Soucy and the higher draft pick to get him? This doesn't make sense for the Kraken.

Barrie's role isn't "gone" - where did you get that from? His PP numbers from last season were superior to Bouchard's, he's still the go-to on the 1st unit.

Besides, he's one if the best in the league at 5v5 scoring too, he's not just a PP specialist.

If you look at Foegele's underlying numbers you'll see why he's worth his contract. He's a Barklay Goodrow-type player for less money and term.

Foegele v Goodrow
