Nah, the Isles would take that deal and run with it. Olofsson and Beauvillier have nearly identical contracts (Olofsson is 2x$4.75M and Beau is 2x$4.15M), but Olofsson has been a proven 20+ goal scorer multiple times in his career already, averaging 24-31-55/82 GP over his 3+ NHL seasons. If you're sending me him *and* throwing in a 4th? Yes, please, sign me right up.

Yeah but not just is beau the better all around player by far olofsson doesnt grade well in 5v5 scoring. He scores way too many of his goals on the pp. Id rather keep beau at this rate.

I think it's a gamble to take - Isles have plenty of responsible middle-6 guys you can pair him with to make up for his subpar D. His PP scoring is exactly *why* I'd want him, though - somehow they snuck up to 12th last year, but their PP the 3 years before (with a strikingly similar lineup) has been 20th, 28th, and 24th. Takes some pressure off Wahlstrom to be "the guy" on the PP right off the bat and helps shore up a weak area. It's not like you're swapping out a shutdown winger/PK guy for Olofsson - it's basically upgrading the offensive side of Beau while sacrificing a little of the defensive side (plus getting an extra 4th doesn't hurt!)

Sacrificing a lot defensively but its not just that. Beaus one of our best forecheckers, hes a good creator, and he wins a ton of board battles. Olofsson is just a scorer, hes not very good at anything else.
