Canucks pass, we need a RD not a LD and boy is that a steep price to pay

Why is Vancouver trading 2 1st and a good prospect for another LD? Seems like a bad move to me.

Canucks say no, Toews will have 1 year remaining on his contract and the management we have right now will definitely not give up 2 firsts and a promising prospect for a rental and Canucks don't need another LD as they have Hughes, OEL, and Rathbone if you say the Canucks can extend Toews.

Now that’s 3 really’s, so like top 10 or top 20. But I wouldn’t pay 2 firsts and a high end prospect for him

Exactly, and being a defenseman, Toews could arguably command an even higher salary. Hard to say how good he is offensively when he's always playing next to Cale Makar, albeit Toews is carrying the defensive load on that pairing
