All 4 lines look solid to me. The defence really depends if a few other guys take another step but one of the bigger problems for me is why the hell did they give Guddy $4M?! I like Guddy but man that contract isn’t close to what I was expecting. I get he got his job done in Calgary but he was playing top 6 and penalty killing minutes under a defensive system that he fit. How much of that will work in Columbus? Anyways, goaltending looks solid.
All 4 lines look good on pen and paper. Defence looks like it’ll need some work but okay on pen and paper.
I guess the question does remain if Johnson and Marchenko make the team. I feel like they can. That would give Columbus some major forward depth and it can help them make a bigger push for the playoffs. The defence like I said seems okay and depends on the younger guys to elevate their game. There’s some potential there though. They can give Pittsburgh and Washington(I still think they both would be 3rd/4th place teams in the metro) a run for their money. In this case it would have to be more likely Washington that they would outplay for 4th.
I’m thinking this will be a fun team to watch this coming season.
