not sure, just a guess

Knyzhov is a good partner but he’s injured for a long time and we need a replacement. Ferraro is definitely the best LD but I feel like we shouldn’t stack the top pair because we don’t have any legit 2nd pair dman.

The main role of whoever plays with EK is to unlock him because he’s elite when he’s at his best. Megna is a solid defenseive defenseman and would let Karlsson focus on offense. I could also see Simek with him working.

If someone shines in camp like Nutivaara and shows they’re ready for 2nd pair minutes then Ferraro probably plays top pair, but if not I think it makes most sense for Ferraro to be 2nd pair.

Because most fans don't actively root for their team to lose.

true, but most fans also don’t like watching a mediocre team year after year either.
