Final tweaks

Created by: Danny_Canuck
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 5, 2022
Published: Sep. 5, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bolster defense with a young waiver-exempt Lundqvist and sign veteran De Haan. With Rathbone also waiver-exempt it creates an excellent dynamic whereby the youngsters can be brought in gradually or get reps playing for the Abby Canucks. This assumes Poolman is on LTIR. This team could be sick.

Rangers def accept. Who doesn't want to trade a promising defensive prospect for a washed up veteran?

🤣🤣🤣

From.l what I am hearing, Rangers are looking for a young waiver exempt centre who actually has NHL promise.

That..... Pearson is not.

Although calling him washed up is harsh. He is what he is. Just overpaid by about $1 million.

At 1.61m for two seasons Pearson is underpaid (to NY). He's a good player, a certain bet to be top nine contributor, and a leader that could be useful during this important transitional stretch for NY. Lundqvist is a flier, but plays premium position. Probably won't convince fans but I bet mgmt wouldn't hate it.

Calling Pearson washed is a bad take, he's just slightly overpaid but he's still a quality middle 6 forward

Calling this team ‘sick’ is a bad take. How is it different than team that just missed playoffs and was the definition of average? The d is seriously sub par and not enough scoring to be anything more than bubble team in the weakcific

And I'm proposing a trade that involves Canucks eating half his salary for two years.

*Could be* sick, there's a difference. They were one of the top teams in the league after BB and have added Mikheyev (top end PKer), Kuz (who the hell knows), Lundqvist (who knows RHD) and a full year of Rathbone (who knows LHD). Could be...
