I think that any Kravtsov/Lundkvist deal is going to be limited to the players and their equivalents coming back, and therefore not involving an effective cap dump like Armia, especially when NY has only about $1 million in cap space.

so would you do the trade without Armia?

The retention in those Dvorak and Hoffman trades is unrealistic, teams rarely if ever retain that much for that long.

Kidney, Ylonen and a draft pick is certainly a reasonable package for the two Ranger prospects; differences of opinion about what level draft pick or whether one should be included at all are certainly reasonable points of view, too.

Welcome to CapFriendly, by the way.

Minnesota has zero need for Christian Dvorak. So Minnesota declines

I don't really see Washington going for that, Savard would at best be a 3rd pairing guy in DC and the Caps lack long term cap space for Savard when needing money for Jensen, Orlov, Fehervary, and possibly Van Riemsdyk. I don't see him being someone that could consistently crack the lineup in DC based on how well Van Riemsdyd under the radar this year, even on his weak side, Montreal would likely have to find another team to send Savard to.
