Only 1.5 giveaways/60 at 5v4, which is a lot better than Klingberg at 3.35, Fox at 3.51 and Ekblad at 3.80 and McAvoy at 2.30. Letang had 3.07 and Hieskanen 3.93... and all these guys get paid much, much more than Barrie. Of these guys, only Fox and Ekblad posted greater P/60 at 5v4, showing just how good a deal Barrie's $4.5M contract is. Oh, and he's top-20 in 5v5 scoring over the past 3 years too. Positive GF% Rel in 8 of his past 9, his on-ice goal differential at 5v5 in the past 2 years was 108-95 (+13), and in the playoffs he posted 16-9 goals.

    So you lose... again.

None of this extracts Barrie on his own (or the other players you mentioned), all of this is based on who's on the ice at that time. All those guys are hands down better defenders then Barrie, there should be zero argument there and looking at one stat is not conclusive of how valuable you believe his contract to be...that's just foolish. Barrie is largely one dimensional period, there should be no debate there. He needs to paired with a solid defender to perform well and he needs to be on the PP in order to score a at the rate he did last season; mind you a strong PP group in Edmonton.

If he's so good and so valuable, why do Oiler fans keep posting AGMs trading him? That question is rhetorical of course.

Lastly, I don't get my kicks off of perceived "winning" or "loosing" on CF or any Internet forum pal smile

So you're walking back your incorrect and biased take on Barrie? Cause you can't claim moral high ground after your previous absurd comments, which I proved wrong.

    Have a great day.

They were worse under St. Louis: NST

Any other myths you'd like debunked?

They were free to play their offense game without worrying about goals against so of course they gave away many pucks, we saw it live , no need for your numbers amd links

Walk back? He's one dimensional, turns over the puck a lot which is true, needs to be paired with a good defenseman in order to be successful, generates more then half his points on the PP making him further one dimensional. Nothing to walk back on it, these are simple objective facts...nothing subjective.

Like I said, there is a reason most Oiler fan AGM's include trading him; he's obviously not that valuable to the fanbase.

I do take the moral high ground on the internet, unfortunately a lot of people don't and approach things with a "I win/you loose" mentality which is unfortunate....sorry you feel the need to do this, but it's just hockey doesn't impact my life, income or happiness. Have a good day! smile

So why place the blame on the previous coach then? You don't make sense.

No it isn't, and I already proved you wrong. You're just too biased to see the facts... come up with a bunch of highly subjective statements and call them objective! laugh
