Minny declines. They can just sign Bert in this case.

Minnesota absolutely declined for many reasons including being the fact he's still unvaccinated which every wild player got

Ok. Won't have him for 2023 playoffs. Don't get signing rights where they don't have to compete against the other 31 teams in the league. Likelihood of being able to secure him goes way down.

That's fine. Minny will keep their first in a stacked class, Marat and Greenway thank you very much

If he agrees to an extension he will. 30 goal scorers in their prime get returns like this. Berts style of play is built for the playoffs.

Unless the playoffs are in Canada in which he isn't guaranteed a chance to play or make it across the border

They simply do not.

You should be looking at the Kevin Fiala trade as a comparable. Kevin Fiala by the way, is 1.5 years younger and has had more points than Bertuzzi in EACH of the last 3 seasons. 179 points for Fiala vs 117 for Bertuzzi over the last 3 seasons.

Take out Greenway and the 3rd and the Wild MIGHT consider this, depending on where they are in the standings. But they probably won't be able to make it work cap wise anyway.

This is simply awful for Minnesota. Acting like legit cup contenders with 14M in dead cap is futile, this isn't a good package to give up if they were and the very last thing the team needs both now and in the future is left handed winger

This would just be a bad move by Guerin on all bases

MIN traded fiala for a reason. Your thinking teams want him is false especially MIN which has zero cap. So no, MIN d

Fiala was traded for a reason. We aren't interested in paying for rentals or players like him when we don't have cap. Guerin says no.

I was going to say MIN probably declines, however, this is an absolutely the most absurd take that I have seen on a trade in a while, I have to give you props for how far down you dug on this one, not that Bertuzzi probably just isn't a fit for this team at his cap hit and the dead cap #s

Bertuzzi is worth more. Green way is out a while and either way Bertuzzi won’t be able to sign in Mint due to their cap issues after the Suter and Parise buyouts.

They simply won't. Guerin doesn't trade 1st and prospects for rentals. Also Minnesota wouldn't trade for a player they wouldn't keep when winger isn't a need. No matter what, wild announced on their Twitter, they were in process of getting player's boosted last year

Umn no its not. You might want to simply do your research. Absurd? Dude Minnesota announced in their Twitter they were in process of player's boosted. Every front office staff, coaches were..

So stop acting like besides cap, there wouldn't be a reason for MIN not to because there's

I have read about 9 posts since this comment, and wow do you have some hot takes over there today. I am also back to the beginning of August on both the PR and Team twitter accounts and see absolutely nothing about vaccinations lol.

Minnesota doesn’t have the money to extend Bertuzzi, nor are they contenders to the point where they make a splash like this.

They need to heavily depend on their youngsters and continue to stockpile assets through the draft.

Wrong trade partner.

Bertuzzi is worth far more than this, So Detroit easily declines.

If Minnesota couldn't afford Kevin Fiala long term, Then they sure as hell won't be to afford Bertuzzi long term. Bertuzzi will wind up in the 7 year @ $7,500,000 per range.

The CDC literally just said last month there is no difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated. Stop being a virtue signaling science denier.

This is comparable to Kevin Fiala...A 1st and a good prospect who was taken in the 2nd round. The kicker is Bertuzzi agrees to an extension with Minny that they can afford which Fiala wasn't going to do.

Greenway is literally in there for cap reasons. Berts a major upgrade from him on the Wing and opening up that 3mil for re-signing Bert. Take Greenway away and Bert basically becomes a rental for Minny. Doubt they'd pay a 1st and Khusnutdinov for a rental. If Detroit doesn't receive at least that, there's no point in trading Bert and really focus on re-signing him.

Lol Greenway is not some throw away player dude.

You can convince yourself all you want that this deal is good for Minnesota but it's simply not. This is a haul for Detroit and it is extremely unrealistic. Tyler Bertuzzi is just not that valuable, even with an extension.

I never said he was a throw away player. Greenway is a good 3rd line player. Bertuzzi would easily be in Minnys top 6. You can't deny the fact Greenways career goals per game is 0.13 and Bertuzzi's is 0.30. Greenways points per game 0.41 and Bertuzzi's is 0.68. On top of these numbers, Bertuzzi's game is advancing at nearly a point per game pace and is continuing to project upwards from that 0.68ppg pace and Greenway is plateaued at 30 points +/- over his career.
