Gonna be honest, I see a lot of people posting trades for Lundkvist for picks and prospects. I can't see NYR trading him for that when they are in win now mode. They're going to want to put him in a deal for a significant piece.

The Rangers want a young center, who is basically in Lundkvist situation. 1st or high 2nd rd pick that is almost or is NHL ready, but does not have a spot on the big team.

Problem for NYR is that they are on the limit of cap salary (1m remain) . Which mean the only NHL player they can add is prospect with low cash salary which limit the number of potential team to trade too. Not every team have this kind of asset to offer. Maybe Arizona could be an idea to trade one of is center prospect to acquired a remplaçant of Chychrun?

I agree that that’s is what they would like to do, but they don’t have the cap space for it. They have a few pieces to pay in the coming years as well. I think he’ll be traded for a 2nd rounder, with another late pick or equivalent. I threw in Pazzetta because Rangers like their gritty depth forwards, they probably won’t be able to pay Blais and they’ll probably let Reaves walk. This replaces a little bit of that toughness.
