Seattle has no cap space to take Schmidt.

They should trade Heinola and DeMelo.

To clarify, Schmidt's gonna be traded to ANY team. I selected a team by random, it probably won't be Seattle.

Team needs a right handed dman that is a monster in a need of opportunity, hopefully play into top pair. Top 6 is solid, but that bottom 6 could be awful, possibly settle for mediocre. Everybody puts perfetti in that spot, could be awesome, but not holding my breath, was kind of hoping for a improvement on svechnikov, physical, possibly pot a few more goals. Scheifele/wheeler for a please don’t have wheeler with Lowry. So still a rather competitive camp coming. Can the jets develop a Center outside of scheifele? This team needs some kids in the worst way. Ptos please also.

Yeah I know, I read it, there isn't "any team" that'll be trading for 3 years of an almost $6M LHD on the other side of 30, the league is capped out, Schmidt isn't going anywhere.

Did any one of them register a point when Scheifele/Lowry/Wheeler were a line for a few games last season??

Should the Jets have made that Marino trade? Been wondering that for awhile, thought the same for Vancouver.

Jets should have fired at Marino for sure, I’m sure they could have found a trade there, I move on from Dillon and demelo and stuck with Schmidt, and hope the right partners bring the best games out of morrissey and pionk. Got to get stanley/samberg/heinola in your top 8. Ride out Schmidt, possibly sell high on pionk or hold onto him, but copy cat league so tb/col final, you got your undersized skill d man. About time to work in some size and see if they develop. Got to shine up some value with bargain contracts and keep building.

There's literally 6 teams in the league that have enough free cap space to take on Schmidt's contract without taking anything back (not counting Dallas because their cap is about to get eaten by the Jason Robertson extension, whenever that comes down). Of those 6, I'd argue that Buffalo, Anaheim, Detroit, Arizona & Chicago are deep enough in a rebuild and shouldn't be giving up any assets for 3x$5.95M of a 31-year old D. So that leaves Ottawa - and they've already got $10M tied up in their RD depth chart, so you're taking back either Travis Hamonic or Nikita Zaitsev in a Schmidt trade with them, or paying one of those first 5 teams to take Schmidt's deal off your hand (that would probably cost at least a 1st with the size of that deal.)

And if you're trying to find a spot for two LHDs in Heinola & Samberg, why are you moving an RHD in Schmidt?

That line actually doesn’t sound too bad, possibly actually develop another Center or two before the moving on from Dubois. This team needs to develop someone outside of the first round and not rest on the helly late round pick and Lowry 3rd round pick.

Ah, didn't even realize Schmidt was left-handed because he's been RD1 on the Jets depth chart since he came over, but point still stands - you're gonna push a rookie to playing on their offhand now instead of a guy who's used to it!

Kind of a null and void point, Schmidt probably not waiving to very many places, jets don’t want to retain or haven’t retained much in the past. Schmidt probably plays out his contract in Winnipeg unless he decides he wants to go somewhere and the jets can possibly facilitate.

Was a useless line from what I recall, cant remember who played center if it was Lowry or Scheifele, again not sure if any of them scored while they were together.

Lowry deserves 2 kids and hopefully they out grow him fast. And scheifele and wheeler deserve a kid too, which makes 4 lines, but whining and need to be carried or number one, going to get them either ehlers or Connor.
