Would you trade Lafreienere for that package?

Trade proposal aside (nowhere near Byfield value), why would Rangers even want Byfield, You already have long-term 1C and 2C locked up, so at best he'd be a 3C pushing on Trocheck

well. hear me out. kings have a plethora of great center prospects with the wings slightly lacking. Kravtsov, former 9th oa pick, and lundkvist are both very capable nhl ready prospects. byfield has yet to flourish at the nhl level. i think that the idea of a trade is not too far fetched, however, i could see the rangers adding in this case 2 2nds instead of a 3rd.

you can always convert a center to a wing, and with turcotte and vilardi stagnating they need to hold on to byfield, who still has a ton of potential.

settle down, dude literally -just- turned 20 two weeks ago. I think 5-6-11 in 46 GP isn't exacly what you want, but it's actually more productive than what the 22 year olds Kravstov & Lundkvist have done in their 45 combined NHGL games (3-5-8).

You're not getting a recent 2OA pick who just exited his teens for a pair of distressed assets and a late 3rd rounder. Rangers add a ton.

Byfield is our top prospect, not a mid-tier center, him not flourishing scoring wise the Kings are fine with, they learned from Vilardi and forcing players into big roles can destroy their development curve. Even if Byfield has a sub par season he is set to sign a very team-friendly deal and learn under Kopitar and Danault.

Learning to be a Selke level two-way player like Danault and Kopitar takes time, Kopitar sacrificed offense to shut down the leagues top-lines, this is the same type of player we want Byfield to be.

Turcotte, Vilardi, or Kupari might be available, but Byfield is like Fox or Shesterkin to the Rangers before breaking out.

You're not even in the ballpark for Quinton Byfield, It would start with Alexis Lafreniere. Not Kravtsov, Lundkvist and a garbage 3rd round pick.

If you think that "this is pretty close," what do you think of K'Andre Miller for Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Sean Walker and a 2023 third?

You can’t seriously think that the kings will trade their future first line center for anything less

They didn't want to include Byfield in an Eichel trade. He was a recent #2 oa who is developing fine. Even if his development hasn't been exceptional, it has been fine. This is silly.

For turcotte you could probably remove kravtsov and it’s still fair. Kid can’t stay healthy. I think pronmans u23 rankings from a week ago had him at 108 while Lundkvist was at 91 and Jones was 100

If I’m the GM of Los Angeles, the only trade I’d take for Byfield is Kakko, Miller, Kravtsov, and a 1st.

Absolutely not. Why trade him for less when he hasn’t developed yet. If that’s a “overpay” then we keep it simple. We keep Byfield and you keep Kakko, Miller, Kravtsov, and a 1st.

I'm not saying he's on market but you sure as hell won't see a return of a former 2OA, a top pairing defenseman, former 9OA, AND a first rounder for an unproven player despite the abundance of potential he undeniably has.

Correct. Byfield is like a unique vehicle that “is not for sale.” But everything has a price. Usually for unique vehicle that’s not for sale, if you really want it, you have pay 2x-3x the actual value for the seller to want to sell it. You would have to heavily overpay for the Kings to sell Byfield.
