I think the Stars would accept if they had the cap space, but that's currently in question with the elder Robertson signing yet to happen.

Your D core would become something of a nightmare to play against and you get out from under Muzzin a year earlier, not sure if Ottowa wants to touch that extra year though.

Ahh, yeah, got that turned around because Ottowa fans keep trying to dump him on ANA next year.

Meyers is under control and cheap. And they just signed him. It’s not a good look to turn around and trade him this early anyway.

Sens still say no, Muzzin is Left shot so are Chabot and Sanderson, so it really makes no sense to add Muzzin the Left side there.

Early Dev Camp and Summer skates show he is ready for a second pairing.
The idea is that he will start playing with Hammonic to shelter him some Defensively, however, the long-term goal is to have him paired with JDB, which would be one of the best 2nd pairings in the league. I also like the idea of pairing with with Branstrom.

He skated with Karlsson, Methot, Chabot, and Zub this week a bunch in OTT.

Also Muzzin contract is an issue same as Zaistev, your really not moving the money out as needed now for debrinkcat extension after this season.

They have to decline, even if they like Kerfoot. It's a terrible look to convince a player to sign and move him a few months later.

The leafs would be better off burying muzzin for a million in savings than trading him for zaitsev

Sakic(probably) called him after the Barrie trade and offered to help him move. Not because Joe is a saint, it's because they couldn't ship him out fast enough.

First off...kerfoot is not a centre, hes not a 2nd line C. lets not pretend like Kerfoot never played for the avs, there was a reason why the traded him and why Bednar did not like him.

Colorado doesn't have the cap for him, the desire for Kerfoot, or the need. They have kids to fill that role. All Kerfoot does is add cap. He's a useful 45 point guy, but he's not worth more than the cap he takes up right now

no they did not trade him to upgrade, he was basically benched in the playoffs prior to them moving him. Hes not a centre, stop pretending like hes one

Kerfoot barely collected any points playing with Mackinnon... the colorado fan base and I'm sure their management were happy to see him leave

Obviously Colorado say no.

Meyers is younger, on an ELC, an RFA Vs UFA, and controlled for more years than Kerfoot. Plus the Avs literally just signed him and it would look awful of they moved an NCAA free agent so soon.
