Seems like a decent amount more than what the Devils gave for Marino, I don't see Kapanen worth much of anything.

Really does beg the question of why Dorion didn't go after Lyubushkin or Marino though with how aggressive he was this offseason. Might have been a bit tunnel visioned on Chychrun.

I think so too, I feel there were better and cheaper option out there as we need a top 4D who is right handed and is more defensive minded guy and Marino was an option I thought we could get since he wouldn't cost much and he has term on a good cap hit. Another thing for me is also that Dorion is trying to trade Zaitsev as well which is hard as that would increase the price we have to pay to acquire a top 4 RD.

Why would you not sign Heinen back for $1M after he almost had 20 goals lol

Right? I’d much rather have Heinen at 1 million than ERod for 1.85 million. I really don’t get why people have this obsession with bringing ERod back. He stunk the second half of the year. People see his points and goals total and act like he didn’t have only like 2 goals the second half of the year. The guy legit had the flukiest half a season and people seem to think that’s what ERod really is and not the several years of barely scoring.

I’m so anti-ERod now with Rakell being back. ERod would just be an expensive 3rd liner that would be forced on his offwing since I’m not paying Kapanen to play 4th line. Penguins would need a LW not any other position. ERod is gonna get overpaid by someone eventually still imo
