If someone was willing to pay for Pettersons contract he'd already have been moved.

The only teams that could take him are literally teams that are in rebuild modes currently and didn’t want to make any trades. The same goes for teams competing because a lot of teams are pretty set with LHDs. Other reasons go along with it. He may be a solid defencemen but the cap hits has really set teams back from making moves they want to make as well. It’s all really cal space and not a need for a defencemen like him right now. There’s other LHDs in the market that ended up not getting moved as well because the only teams willing to take them are teams with high amounts of cap space but only will take them along with a sweetener or a very bare minimum.

Perhaps. Admittedly I saw the year of the AGM after I posted, but I still doubt Arizona want to spend futures on pending UFA's as a rebuilding team.

Wasn’t entirely implied with what you were saying but I see that I have misunderstood but just wanted to get my piece in anyways lol.

A 3rd for taking on McGinn is a lot more reasonable than a 3rd for taking on Muzzin. That's for sure.

I'd rather keep Pettersson than have to pay that much AAV to Sanheim.
