When the posts title is this, usually at least one side is guaranteed to say no.

Probably Anaheim as young RHD are more valuable than wingers but Caufield and Zegras would be amazing so who knows

How? Drysdale simply hasn't been good in the NHL so far.

Caufield on the other hand scored 22 goals and had 35 points in a 37 games span. + an exceptional stint when they had their SCF run.

Drysdale has had 1 full season at the NHL level, defensemen take longer to develop.

Yeah I understand that, but Caufield already looks like a star and this is coming from a Leafs fan. He'll be a top 5 goal scorer in this league.

Anaheim (1), because RhDs that might develop into All-Stars are harder to come by than #1 RWs, and Montreal (2), because Jordan Harris played all four years at Northeastern and could have waited a few weeks and then signed with any team, but preferred to sign with the team that drafted him (the Canadiens), so I cannot IMAGINE Kent Hughes rewarding that loyalty by trading him.

You should have said both teams decline
By responding ANA decline, it's like MTL should do it but no way ANA does

Drysdale is the only RD under the age of 27 on the Ducks, we have no one else at that position ready in the next three years outside of Hellerson, RD is a position of desperate need, winger much less so.

Drysdale can still become a star himself, and Caulfield at 5'7" is likely to get murdered on the ice out west where the dinosaur enforcers still roam the ice.

I fail to see how not speaking for another teams fans when I have no idea the inner working of their team is a bad thing.

Well unlike Drysdale, Caufield already played playoff hockey against one of those hard-hitting western teams and he did just fine with 4 goals and 5 points in 6 games played as a rookie with no previous NHL experience.

Just a bad idea for montreal all around to do that trade

You are either not understanding, or outright ignoring my point. Yeah, whoop de doo, he survived six games and put up great points. If he has to start playing regular seasons in the west, how does that shape his career trajectory? how much more often does he get injured out here, do those injuries affect his scoring touch? These are all unknowns that we can speculate to, and no one is arguing that he isn't a great player, so get off your high horse.

RD is a position of NEED for the Ducks, winger is a position of WANT. We NEED Drysdale, we only WANT Caufield. End of discussion.

How? So many reasons. Team need. Players have careers longer than 100 games, and development doesn't end at 20. Going up to the NHL as a defenseman is harder than going up as a forward. Basically all of the reasons, I think.

Sounds like you've been ignoring my points as well. It doesn't matter if the Ducks need or simply want Caufield, because the Canadiens would simply not that deal either way. Drysdale has not been good and hasn't played meaningful hockey so you can already get off your high horse, Caufield simply outperformed him in their respective NHL careers and debating otherwise is dumb. What's even more dumb is the size argument. It's tired and lazy. Many small star players performed in the Western Conference; Kane, Gaudreau, DeBrincat. Now that's the end of discussion.

Agree to disagree then, but I can't see Montreal doing it anyways.
