Description

The forms deal is listed here as 2 years I figure it would probably be 3 years starting in 2022.

I think the fourth line and the bottom two defenseman could easily be replaced by stopgap veterans for a year.

Debrincat gets 2-year to line up with the expiration of Girouxs contact and those dollars.

Otherwise you can see how I don't think this team needs a lot of changes for next year's season.

I chose to buy that serve out because I just don't think that Arizona is willing to take that many bad contracts back

If the issues around Formenton are accurate I wouldn't count on him being back.

Even if he's exonerated he won't be back imo. Greig is coming, and Ottawa will need to allocate Formenton's cap elsewhere. For example this post is at least 1mil short on the DeBrincat contract and the Zub contract, and there's no room here to actually improve the blueline.

Way low on the Cat and Zub deals. Why would Ottawa want to bridge DeBrincat? He's younger than Chabot, he's easily a core member of this team. You have to pay him his money and keep him long term.

As for Zub, he 100% walks for less than 4.5×5 imo. Ottawa can't afford to let him walk. He's too important to the blueline.

Assuming DeBrincat has a good (not great) year expect $9m and totally agree with the other people posting Zub is $4.5-$5m.
