Amazing contract, his agent should be ashamed. I hope he earns his money after this season, and this opens up a lot of cap space for LA too. I thought he would've gotten way more so a really good job by Rob Blake and I wish he has a good year

I don't understand how this happened. I thought he would come in at least twice as high. There's something seriously odd about this signing.

I always saw him taking the Sieg route

Get a 1 to 2 year deal in the 1-1.8mill range then getting a bigger 3-5mill deal later

But thanks to this Sandin's leverage is shrinking more and more

The only thing I could think of is that Blake promised a significant raise next summer with term if Anderson would take a team friendly deal this season.

If we look at a nice comparable

Sieg signed like 1.125 mill x 2 years then signed a 5 year 3.4mill deal

Got a feeling Anderson's doing the same

1 year 1mill than 6 years 4mill or something like that

Fantastic deal for LA, Anderson is a defensive machine. Also, I hate to make this about the Leafs, but Sandins agent is sweating right now

He had two longish injuries last year and almost no offensive upside. That said, you really can't complain about the price.
