With Barron, Wideman and Lundqvist sharing the same 2 roster spots, i think MTL could manage to have him play less than 50 games.

I'd love to add Lundqvist on the Habs, i think he's close to Barron as a prospect and would be a good add on the right side. And he said he's hungry for top 4 time this year.

I see this trade as more than fair. Mysak has potential to make an NHL roster this year but the Habs have too much of a logjam at forward while a shortage at RD so it just makes sense. Also the condition on the pick is performance based so why not?
    Sincerely,
    A Habs fan

Montreal passes, unless you drop the pick. The 2 prospects are so close in value that adding the pick (conditional or not) is an overpayment. Both are buried on their respective organization's depth chart, the only thing that makes sense and is "fair" is a 1 for 1 deal.

The Habs accept IMO. It's a slight overpay - but there is a scarcity of options at RHD across all teams.

I think this is a decent proposal, add Gauthier if he's just being claimed anyway and leave the pick with conditions. Should be enough for both sides to be pleased.

We have no room for another depth forward, we don't need to add another pick either. 1 for 1 or I for one am not interested. Why overpay? This is a trade that fills the needs of both teams, both players are currently buried in their respective depth charts, both players have equal value and neither player plays a more critical position than the other (the 2 hardest positions to fill are C and RD) we don't need to haggle just trade 1 for 1.

Mysak is a better prospect at the moment. If its a center the Rangers wants, look at Ty Smilaniac or Oliver Kapenen

Not bad but not sure where Mysak fits right now, but I say we hold on to Nils and dangle him as bait at the deadline...

Mysak is not gonna make the roster this season, he is in my opinion made to fit in next season (replacement for Chytil as 3C)

I don't disagree with you, I just feel that even though Gauthier would be another depth winger he is younger than our current depth wingers and after this season/next season he could slot in nicely. I'm on board with 1 for 1 Mysak/Nils for the record.

I don't think he fits even then, We currently have Caufield, Slafkovsky, Anderson, Gallagher, Armia, and Hoffman signed past this year, I also suspect that one or both of Drouin and maybe Dadonov will be resigned to short term low hit contracts. Add to that that we have Ylonen, RHP, Mesar, Roy and Farrell all looking to make the team in 23-24 or 24-25 adding Gauthier to the mix just blocks some of them.

I'd love to keep the 4th too, but Lundkvist is better than Mysak. His value is closer to Barron IMO. And being a RHD, his value is higher than a center. MTL really need RHD.

Also, Mysak is 5'10 175 pounds and he's 20 years old, he won't grow anymore. We have enough talented small forwards with Suzuki, Caufield, Farrell, Mesar, Beck.

Gauthier could be sent to the AHL since he probably clear wavers. Not sure if there's a spot for him in Laval.
