How does Anaheim possibly say no? Fabbro and Drysdale as their 1st and 2nd pair RHD and a 1st rd pick for 3,5 mil of Klingberg and the final year of Shattenkirk.

What would it look like including Jeannot?

Also don’t think we would be interested in Lauzon

I would accept that offer as the Anaheim GM. I'd prefer to have a 2023 first instead, but I'd also like to be 65 again . . .

There's a lot of criteria that has to happen very specifically for this deal to be desired by Nashville, and I don't think we take Lauzon in the deal, Nashville wouldn't want to ship out two young D for two veteran rentals, that cuts them too deep next season.

Kling and Shat both need to have near career years

The Ducks need to be out of a playoff spot, or far enough out that we don't want to go for it and make some noise

We don't work out an extension with Kling during the year (you never know, he could like it here, and we could end up liking him)

Nashville needs to be in a decently solid playoff spot at the TDL

Nashville's defense needs to falter, probably offensively, in order to entertain picking up 2RD from the Ducks to bolster the back end.

I’d love something like Klingberg & Shattenkirk (each 50% retained) for 2023 1st Jeanno and Fabbro

Its highly unlikely that the Ducks get a better return in a combined Shattenkirk and Klingberg trade than the sum return of two separate trades. Lot's of teams are going to offer up better than Lauzon and a 2025 3rd for example.

I think Nashville should be setting their sights on one or the other Anaheim defenseman. Both is just too improbable.

Would this give NSH the oldest defense in NHL history? Sorry, but even if it weren't an overpayment, there's absolutely no reason for NSH to consider this.

That's getting closer to an offer for Zegras, not a couple 30+ rentals.

Think the Ducks are in good situation where upcoming UFAs Klingberg and Shattenkirk can be traded closer to TDL, Cap might be a problem now for some teams, but gotta think they might get the same trade value in February

Last offseason
“Let’s trade Ellis so our young dmen can get proper icetime and develop “

This off-season
“Let’s trade our young dmen for two old UFA to be dmen that we can’t possibly keep beyond this season and add in some extra picks including a 1st round pick. Yeh that’s the ticket”

Makes zero sense for Nashville
