I think with Toews' reputation it will cost at least a 1st unless his play drops off steeply this season. Even if hes scoring just over 0.5P/GP like he did last season I think GMs will be drooling over his cup experience and leadership

Im just thinking of the Foligno, Savard, and Chiarot deadline deals and how much GMs were willing to pay them for their experience. Toews has significantly more experience and multiple cups as the team captain. I cant imagine a prospect + 4th being anywhere near enough tbh

If Foligno can get a 1st+ at the TDL, Toews absolutley can

I Toews isn’t the answer to any Avalanche questions. He’s is not good offensively and he is worse defensively. The price is cheap though.

That's just a bad take. He's always been better defensively then offensively and he is still a very good defensive center.

That said, he's a 3C on a cup team not a 2C, but a very good 3C.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Joe/CMac didn't pay Rodrigues 2M to play 4RW. It's NO to Toews.
