Minnesota isn't paying for your cap dump again

Aside from the fact that I don't think that Kerfoot's value is more than a third, it's hard to imagine Edmonton paying to increase their cap by half a million for a rental.

Oilers have no leverage, it was already rumoured that a team offered the Oilers a 4th round pick near the draft date. Might as well get someone who put up 50 points

Next time just say wild don't need RHD. 7th for Holl is a steal.

Oh yes the Oilers have leverage. They can make a deal with any one of the other 30 teams in the NHL, or not move Puljujarvi at all.

Alright, so they trade Puljujarvi for a 3rd at max (his value at the moment), I'm sure they will easily replace his defensive production. Even if they don't trade him, are they going to run a 20 man roster for the entire season?

They have 21 players on the roster right now. They are roughly $6.8 million over the cap but have Klefbom and Smith to put on the LTIR list (roughly $6.4 million), so trading Puljujarvi (or Barrie or Foegele, the other suspects) will give them enough space to run a normal 23-man roster.

Oilers are trying to get rid of cap not add it. That trade makes no sense.

Also the Wild just gave away a 2 million dollar 3rd pairing dman for free, they're not trying to add one

Right!? Ppl just like to dump on others too much imo

VAN Fans should be all over Justin Holl, but I think it would be a terrible idea for TOR to move him unless they sign PK Subban or Anton Stralman for cheap

So Oulers hurt their cap situation, while giving up a pick and then get a rental who they can not sign next year and lose a younger player coming into the prime of his career. All while helping the Leafs cap situation while they sign Jp for less than Kerfoot. Sure, Dubas is good but not that good.

Except for the fact Puljujarvi may be a rental himself after only signing a 1 year deal, he could simply just pack up and head back home to Europe after this season, he's done it before.

Should probably be a 1-for-1 Trade, if not TOR sending a late Pick in return

No it's not. He would be 8th d in MIN..Dmitry Kulikov was just traded for a reason. Always Kerfoot or holl.by leafs fans who can't accept simple no

Puljujarvi is better, younger and cheaper than Kerfoot and he's a pending RFA. In what world is Edmonton adding in that trade?

For the millionth time, Minnesota has no interest in Holl, stop this

You just said I was wrong and repeated what I said. There are only a few teams with cap space. So they will be flooded with players that other teams want moved.

It makes just as little sense for the leafs who need him. I feel your pain.
