more offensive firepower

Description
dallas trade i see as a decent fit because dallas has a few young guys who might step up this year like bourqe/ stankoven/ johnston/ damiani/ dellandrea and they will most likely start off as wingers since dallas has multiple players who will be safer options at C in hintz/ benn/ seguin/ faksa/ glendening.

i could see dellandrea/ stankoven/ bourqe cracking then line-up which could push gurianov out of the line-up and B's could use another faster winger that has a good shot and is decent at getting clean zone entries.

for the 3rd line i could see any of these variations depending on who excels in pre-season and in the prospect tournament held in buffalo

Option 1: one listed below
Option 2: Merkulov- Zacha- Gurianov
Option 3: Gurianov- Zacha- Lysell
Option 4: Gurianov- Zacha- Mclaughlin

potentially even beecher could fit in on the 3rd line if he does well in pre-season given his speed, defensive capabilities, net front presence and physicality.

anyways let me know your thoughts im hesitant on the philly trade but given they have torts as the coach and couts and ellis should be back for the start of the season i highly doubt they try to tank so i feel a 1 for 1 trade for similiar ranked dman would be something of interest

Additional Details:

LAK
  1. Reilly, Mike
Additional Details:
this is simply what i think reilly's value is, i think he is gonna have a good start to the season especially with the amount of opportunities he is gonna have with grzelcyk and mcavoy out for the start of the year. he might even be able to rise his value to a 2nd but i feel due to bruins cap situation they probably have to sell a little low
3.
BOS
  1. Sanheim, Travis
Additional Details:
B's look for a dman that can bring more offence from the defence
PHI
  1. Grzelcyk, Matt
Additional Details:
helps philly shed some cap, gives them a cheaper better defensively option. they also save on sanheim's extension and don't have to risk loosing hip to UFA

sanheim is stronger offensively but grzelcyk is still a solid puck mover due to his speed and agility

Why exactly does Philly need to shed cap when they don't have expectations this year and arent spending to the cap to begin with?

They have torts as a coach and they just signed deangelo their team is actually not terrible if they can stay healthy

Their defence is pretty solid and should help out hart a little more

If you don’t think Hayes/ couts for a full season and Ellis and deangelo added to the defence won’t make them better then last year then idk what to tell you.

Farabee/konecny/Atkinson are good top 6 wingers and JVR isn’t as bad as people make him out to be. I wouldn’t be surprised if they looked to shed cap to make another addition that could help them win

But the main point is that torts hates loosing and that’s why Philly signed him they want to win

Whether other teams accept trades or not, the offense slightly improves while the defense gets worse. Coyle and Smith won't like being on the 4th line nor should they and Gurianov isn't needed, just get Steen to become a 3rd liner if you absolutely want someone and he's at $800K.

One area they could improve is having another 60-pts winger. DeBrusk, Zacha or someone else.

Strengthening the third line by making the top four worse is seldom a good idea.

I don’t see the point to this.

The defence isn’t worse now we actually have offence from the defence outside mcavoy

We were already the number 2 defensive team and I doubt grzz moves that needle much being gone

Another 60 point player will cost a 1st+ which most B’s fans are optimistic about trading due to our upcoming rebuild

That was in Cassidy's system, Montgomery plans to use a similar one but we'll see how good they remain. Part of the success was because of Grzelcyk who is one of the best defensemen on the team. In addition, moving Reilly also makes it worse. One injury and they're back to 3 top4 Ds (which was one of the reasons they lost in 2021)

I was mostly looking at DeBrusk + pick/prospect to get that player. If they do end up doing a rebuild, they can get a lot of picks back by trading several players. It's not a big issue if done properly. Trading a pick now would give the best chance for this year's team to win.

Yes, Stars have young centers coming. Why trade a sniping winger who will absolutely benefit from those centers? Bourque and Guri are gunna make sweet magic together
