Am I the only one that feels this future isn't all that promising yet?
Suzuki and Caufield are high end players and Slafkovsky certaintly looks like he is going to be.

But other than that most of these guy's top out at average to above average nhl players. Guhle is a very good prospect but what is his ceiling? Someone like Ekholm maybe? Same idea with Barron

If they can (and should) add a high end draft pick this year the future looks pretty good. Just hoping that they play the way everyone is predicting

you can't have a roster filled with top end superstars - its just not sustainable (or doable for that matter).
Teams need to balance their roster with high end, above average, average talented players - its just the way it goes.

However, given from where the Habs have been selecting from in the last few drafts (mid to late first round) - with the exception of this year - they have done considerably well in recognize NHL potential talent specifically in later rounds. (ie. Roy and Ferrel).

Add to that this year's draft with top end talent in Slavs and Mesar and slightly behind them with Beck and Hutson - they have a great group of prospects with mid to top end NHL potential in their prospect pool.
