Pens decline. I’m not sure how this fixes either teams cap situation. I mean I like the fact that Denisenko is waiver exempt, but I think POJ has been the better player so far at a more important position. With the pens having traded Matheson and Dumo being a pending free agent, it doesn’t make sense to trade POJ or Smith

Florida goes from the Presidents Trophy, To probably getting lucky to win the last wild card spot. That LD is going to be crushed on a nightly basis.

i think the forward group is deep enough where it won’t matter, their roster is still better than detroit/ottawa imo and a ton of the bruins’ important pieces will be out half the year. don’t see them making a deep run this year but i think they’re an easy playoff team, and the cap going up and the yandle buyout going down will help them significantly in future seasons.

If I'm Hextall I would consider this. I've always wanted the Pens to get Malkin a Russian winger.
